Welcome to our Mindfulness Day Retreats Derbyshire experiences at Roseland Farm. Nestled between Mansfield and Chesterfield (just 10 minutes from M1 Junction 29), our day retreats offer a peaceful space to reconnect with yourself through guided meditation, mindful walking, gentle yoga, and Shibashi QiGong.
Learn how your mind works, why it takes you down unhelpful paths, and give yourself a true "reset" to reconnect with what is important.
Learn skills to breathe, release tension, feel more relaxed, and enjoy a day of peace, stillness, and silence without pressure.
Learn how to be less caught up in the past or stressed about the future, finding inner peace and coping better with life's ups and downs.
If you are new to mindfulness meditation, don’t worry! We will guide you through it every step of the way. Mindfulness meditation is a proven way of getting into a way of being that is different from our usual way of experiencing life. We sit and we notice what we notice, with curiosity and without judgement. Our mindfulness meditations can be as short as 3 minutes, but on a retreat day we usually go for about 20 minutes before taking a break where you can have some space.
Clear, gentle guidance with no prior experience needed.
Notice thoughts and body sensations without pressure.
Short 3-minute check-ins up to 20-minute guided practices followed by free time.
We are big believers in the power of mindful walking. It is something we do every day, but so often we are on auto-pilot, our minds having wandered somewhere else completely. We will go through the principles of mindful walking so that you can do it for yourself in everyday life. Our walking route is just over half an hour across easy terrain on the farm, but if walking isn’t for you, don’t worry, that’s not a problem (you can try some more meditation or yoga instead).
Learn how to bring full presence and awareness to walking.
Easy, flat terrain across private farm pastures and woodland.
Completely optional if you prefer to sit, meditate, or rest instead.
You might not have heard of Qigong (or Chi Kung, Chi Gong, Qi Gong, and even Ch’i Kung!). It’s part of Tai Chi, which may sound familiar. Qigong explores movement and stretches from a standing position, all very gentle and designed to help you get back into your body and reconnected with your breathing. We tend to use a set of movements called ‘Shibashi’ (referring to the 18 movements that make up a full sequence) really easy, really accessible, really grounding.
Accessible movement designed to reconnect you with breath.
Simple, grounding sequence easily practiced by anyone.
Reconnects mind and body without strenuous exertion.
We have regular breaks during the day where you can go and do your own thing, including finding a quiet place for some gentle yoga (we have mats!). If you’re not sure what to do, don’t worry—we can show you some simple routines that are easy to get on with no matter how fit and agile (or not!) you are. Yoga is great for moving us out of our busy heads and back into our bodies. This helps to ground us and make us feel more connected to ourselves and to nature across our indoor and outdoor spaces.
Everything you need is ready for you at the farm.
Simple, accessible routines shown step-by-step.
Enjoy practicing in tranquil quiet rooms or outside in nature.

“People coming on retreat are so often searching for some space: space to be, to reconnect with themselves and disconnect from the constant chatter and nonsense of everyday life. I will offer you this space using guided meditation and mindful walking.”
As a registered teacher with the British Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA) and a practising psychotherapist, Paulo blends lived experience, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience to help make sense of our busy minds.
“I’m devoted to creating heart-felt, embodied and inclusive spaces that support reconnection: to Self, body, each other and the world.”

We had a wonderful day at Paulo’s retreat. His farm feels like something out of a storybook, and the whole day was so thoughtfully and smoothly organised. The group was warm and kind, and the activities were paced just right, allowing everything to feel relaxed and unhurried. We have rarely felt so rested and light. The homemade lunch was lovely, and it was such a treat to be able to take home fresh eggs from the farm as well. A deeply enjoyable experience, and one we would warmly recommend without hesitation.Posted on Google![]()

I have retreated at Paulo’s 2 years in a row and have loved the warmth and calm I receive there. A beautiful place to practice Mindfulness. The walks and the wildlife as well as a working farm full of animals giving it a rustic charm. I will be going back!Posted on Google![]()
